Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

GMRT detection of HI 21 cm associated absorption towards the z=1.2 red quasar 3C 190 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We report the GMRT detection of associated HI 21 cm-line absorption in the z=1.1946 red quasar 3C 190. Most of the absorption is blue-shifted with respect to the systemic redshift.

Applicability of mitotic figure counting by deep learning: a development and pan‐cancer validation study

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, we developed a deep learning method for mitotic figure counting in H&E‐stained whole‐slide images and evaluated its prognostic impact in 13 external validation cohorts from seven different cancer types. Patients with more mitotic figures per mm2 had significantly worse patient outcome in all the studied cancer types except colorectal ...

Hotspots of soil organic carbon storage revealed by laboratory hyperspectral imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Subsoil organic carbon (OC) is generally lower in content and more heterogeneous than topsoil OC, rendering it difficult to detect significant differences in subsoil OC storage. We tested the application of laboratory hyperspectral imaging with a variety

Effectiveness of rTMS on Working Memory and Inhibitory Impairments in Patients With Post‐Stroke Executive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Considerable efforts have been dedicated to developing effective treatments for post‐stroke executive impairment (PSEI), among which repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown great potential. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of high‐frequency rTMS on working memory (WM) and response ...
