Geologic Controls on Reservoir Quality

2013
Abstract Reservoir quality controls the storage, distribution, and flow of fluids within a reservoir. Porosity and permeability are key parameters that are readily measured on rock samples and from well logs; with calibration, porosity can be mapped from 3D seismic surveys.

Microbiological water quality of reservoirs

1985
Reservoir microbiological water quality is a complex subject, affected by numerous environmental variables and management decisions. Indicator and pathogenic microorganisms vary in their occurrence, distribution, and density relaionships to each other.

Deterioration of water quality in large distribution reservoirs (open reservoirs)

Journal AWWA, 1983
The quality of water in open, finished‐water reservoirs of three distribution systems was monitored in order to ascertain the degree to which water quality deteriorates during storage in the reservoirs. Data are presented from monitoring programs conducted by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, the Seattle (Wash.) Water Department ...

The Influence of Solid Reservoir Bitumen on Reservoir Quality (1)

AAPG Bulletin, 1992
Reservoir bitumen precipitates in pore systems from the alteration of trapped or migrating oil in carbonate and siliciclastic reservoirs. Reservoir bitumen is not readily identified on typical log suites, where it is read as open porosity, which has hampered its broad recognition as a reservoir-altering cement.

Implementation of sedimentary facies and diagenesis on the reservoir quality of the Aquitanian‐Burdigalian Rudeis Formation in the Gulf of Suez, Egypt: A comparative surface and subsurface study

Geological Journal, 2019
The Lower Miocene Rudeis Formation has been studied in two surface outcrops on the eastern onshore of the Gulf of Suez at Wadi Wasit and Sarbut El Gamal localities and in the subsurface sequence of October oil field in the central part of the Gulf of ...

Control of Reservoir Water Quality

1990
It is possible to use simple treatment methods to make water from impoundments suitable as a drinking water supply if the catchment area is used primarily for forestry and is sparsely populated. The higher the population density and the more extensive the area used for agricultural purposes, the greater the burden of communal and agricultural ...

Compositional variation in modern estuarine sands: Predicting major controls on sandstone reservoir quality

American Association of Petroleum Geologists Bulletin, 2019
Primary depositional mineralogy has a major impact on sandstone reservoir quality. The spatial distribution of primary depositional mineralogy in sandstones is poorly-understood and consequently empirical models typically fail to accurately predict ...
