Cyanide Removal of Gold Cyanide Residues by Manganese Compounds As New Decyanation Reagents

Science of The Total Environment, 2023
Plenty of the toxic gold cyanide residues are produced by cyanidation process of gold extraction. As a kind of hazardous solid wastes, cyanide residues must be treated to remove cyanide before disposal. In this study, the removal of cyanide in gold cyanide residues by manganese compounds (KMnO4 and MnO2) was investigated.

Direct Detection of Residual Cyanide in Cassava Using Spectroscopic Techniques

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2007
Fluorescence, infrared, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-visible, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques have been applied to monitor the effect of processing mode on the residual cyanogens in cassava roots. The processed samples' infrared spectra have shown that only the boiled sample contains residual cyanide. SEM micrographs have revealed that

Residual cyanide concentrations during the extraction of cassava starch

International Journal of Food Science and Technology, 1982
Abstract Cassava starch is traditionally extracted on a small scale in many tropical countries. The process consists of wet-milling the washed roots, washing the starch from this milled pulp on vibrating trays or in mixing tanks, sedimenting the starch in wooden canals or concrete tanks and sun-drying the product.

Anaerobic Nitrogen Transformations in a Gold-Cyanide Leach Residue

Environmental Science & Technology Letters, 2015
Laboratory incubations of sediment collected from gold cyanidation heap leach residues revealed cyanide and nitrogen transformations that have not been previously documented in the absence of added organic carbon and under anaerobic conditions. Heap leach residues were incubated anaerobically with process water spiked with free cyanide and minimal ...

Gold-copper ores processing cyanidation optimization of flotation residues

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2000
Abstract Typically, economic optimization of Gold-Copper ore processing presents challenges. Barrick’s Bousquet II ore is a good example where many processing units such as gravity, flotation and cyanidation are required. Cyanidation process optimization and its inter-dependence with flotation are discussed in detail.

Bioremediation of cyanide leaching residues

1999
Bioremediation is an economic and effective technique to detoxify cyanide leaching residues. This treatment technique was investigated to determine its applicability to effluents and solid wastes from Ecuadorian cyanidation plants. Tailings from different cyanide leaching plants that utilized different types of ore were used to isolated native strains ...

Residual stresses in cyanided electrolytic iron

Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 1970
1. Cyaniding with paste greatly improves the residual stresses in electrolytic iron coatings. 2. After cyaniding and polishing, the stresses in the surface layers are compressive. 3. At the coating-base metal interface the compressive stresses change to tensile stresses. 4.

Cyanide residue levels in extracted honey, comb honey and wax cappings.

Journal of environmental science and health. Part. B, Pesticides, food contaminants, and agricultural wastes, 1979
Cyanide (CN) residue levels were determined in samples of extracted honey, comb honey and was cappings at 1 hr, 24 hr, and 48 hr intervals after destroying the bees in honey bee colonies with normal (ca. 8.5 g) and twice normal (ca. 17 g) doses of CyanogasR A-dust.

Recycling of residual valuable metals in cyanide-leached gold wastewater using the N263-TBP system

Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering, 2021
Abstract In this study, the synergistic extraction system of trioctylmethyl ammonium chloride (N263)-tributyl phosphate (TBP)-n-octanol-sulfonated kerosene was used to enrich and recover valuable metals from cyanide gold extraction of wastewater. The effects of the proportion of N263 and TBP, contact time, initial pH of water phase, temperature, and ...

Biooxidation of gold-bearing sulfide ore and subsequent biological treatment of cyanidation residues

Applied Biochemistry and Microbiology, 2016
The percolation biooxidation parameters of ore from the Bakyrchik deposit were studied. An investigation of the technological parameters (such as the concentration of leaching agents, irrigation intensity, and pauses at various stages of the leaching) revealed the optimal mode for precious metal extraction.
