Characterization of medium and small-scale gold processing operations, wastewaters, and tailings in the Arequipa region of Peru

open access: yesScience of the Total Environment
Gold cyanidation facilities in the Arequipa Region of Peru are challenged by the availability and quality of water for processing in an arid environment. The facilities reuse decant water which recycles residual cyanide but also undesirable constituents.

Gold Recovery from Cyanidation Tailings Using Flotation Process

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2022
The gold recovery from cyanidation tailings was only 4.01% with the general flotation process, the surface analyses of flotation products were performed, and the results showed that the poor gold recovery with general flotation process was due to the passive films covering the surface of the gold bearing pyrite.

Characterization of Gold in Complex Historical Refractory Tailings for Enhanced Process Optimization

open access: yesMineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review, 2023
Historical gold tailings show promise as a secondary resource amid declining primary deposits, yet conventional cyanidation falls short, resulting in recoveries below 90%. An essential pre-treatment process is crucial for optimal recovery, contingent on understanding the complex mineralogy of the tailings.

Flotation of mercury from the tailings of the Agh-Darreh gold processing plant, Iran [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, 2017
The feed ore to Agh-Darreh gold processing plant (Takab City, Iran) contains 2 ppm Au, 7 ppm Ag, and 120 ppm Hg. After cyanide leaching of the feed at pH 10.4, 80% of the total mercury (in the form of cinnabar and metacinnabar) goes to the tailings dam. In this research, separation of mercury from the tailings by flotation was investigated. The effects

Characterization of Dunggilata Gold Tailings and Treatment Process Recommendations

open access: yesJurnal Penelitian Pendidikan IPA
Rare earth elements (REEs) are a group of seventeen metallic elements consisting of scandium (Sc), yttrium (Y), and fifteen other lanthanide elements. Rare earth metals have an important role in various technologies, so the analysis and separation of these elements from their minerals is very important to do.
