The Inverted Linear Exponential Distribution as A Life Time Distribution [PDF]

open access: yesThe Egyptian Statistical Journal, 2006
In This Paper, We Introduce the Inverted Linear Exponential (ILE) Distribution. Some statistical Properties of This Distribution Are Studied, Such as The Mean, The Variance, The Mode, The Median, The Failure Rate, And Mean Residual Time.

A New Generator of Probability Models: The Exponentiated Sine-G Family for Lifetime Studies

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
In this article, we propose the exponentiated sine-generated family of distributions. Some important properties are demonstrated, such as the series representation of the probability density function, quantile function, moments, stress-strength ...

The Hjorth's IDB Generator of Distributions: Properties, Characterizations, Regression Modeling and Applications

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2020
We introduce a new flexible class of continuous distributions via the Hjorth's IDB model. We provide some mathematical properties of the new family. Characterizations based on two truncated moments, conditional expectation as well as in terms of the ...

Truncated Cauchy Power Weibull-G Class of Distributions: Bayesian and Non-Bayesian Inference Modelling for COVID-19 and Carbon Fiber Data

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
The Truncated Cauchy Power Weibull-G class is presented as a new family of distributions. Unique models for this family are presented in this paper.

Half-Logistic Xgamma Distribution: Properties and Estimation under Censored Samples

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2020
This paper proposed a new probability distribution, namely, the half-logistic xgamma (HLXG) distribution. Various statistical properties, such as, moments, incomplete moments, mean residual life, and stochastic ordering of the proposed distribution, are ...

Estimation of genetic variation in residual variance in female and male broiler chickens [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In breeding programs, robustness of animals and uniformity of end product can be improved by exploiting genetic variation in residual variance. Residual variance can be defined as environmental variance after accounting for all identifiable effects.

An adaptive residual sub-sampling algorithm for kernel interpolation based on maximum likelihood estimations

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2023
In this paper we propose an enhanced version of the residual sub-sampling method (RSM) in [9] for adaptive interpolation by radial basis functions (RBFs). More precisely, we introduce in the context of sub-sampling methods a maximum profile likelihood estimation (MPLE) criterion for the optimal selection of the RBF shape parameter.

The Exponentiated Lindley Geometric Distribution with Applications

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
We introduce a new three-parameter lifetime distribution, the exponentiated Lindley geometric distribution, which exhibits increasing, decreasing, unimodal, and bathtub shaped hazard rates.

Modeling residue usage in aligned protein sequences via maximum likelihood [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Biology and Evolution, 1996
A computational method is presented for characterizing residue usage, i.e., site-specific residue frequencies, in aligned protein sequences. The method obtains frequency estimates that maximize the likelihood of the sequences in a simple model for sequence evolution, given a tree or a set of candidate trees computed by other methods.
