Determination of Residual Oil Saturation in A Carbonate Reservoir
Proceedings of SPE Asia Pacific Improved Oil Recovery Conference, 2001Abstract Single-well tracer testing has been widely accepted as a standard method for measuring residual oil saturation to waterflood. Residual oil saturation is an important parameter in the evaluation of tertiary oil recovery potential for depleted reservoirs.

In-Situ Residual Oil Saturation Determined at Angsi
Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition, 2007Abstract This paper describes how an opportunity to determine residual oil saturation in-situ was captured in the Angsi field, a relatively new development in the South China Sea off the East coast of peninsular Malaysia. It describes the data required to determine fluid saturations in-situ in a well drilled through a reservoir which has

Sulfonate Retention and Residual Oil Saturation
Society of Petroleum Engineers Journal, 1983Abstract This paper describes an empirical relationship between sulfonate retention and final residual oil saturation achieved by a micellar/polymer oil-recovery process. Using this relationship and certain assumptions, one can derive expressions for predicting oil recovery performance in coreflood experiments.

New Method to Reduce Residual Oil Saturation by Polymer Flooding
SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 2017Abstract Six coreflood experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) polymer solutions on the residual oil saturation in Bentheimer sandstone cores. All six cores were first saturated with brine and then flooded in the following sequence: oil to zero water cut, brine to zero oil cut, glycerin ...

Determination of Residual Oil Saturation from Well Logs
Energy Sources, 1988Abstract New techniques of determining residual oil saturation from logs are proposed. The inherent technical constraints, such as “stripping”, are discusssed.

Evaluation and Comparison of Residual Oil Saturation Determination Techniques
SPE Formation Evaluation, 1988SummaryThe amount and distribution of residual oil saturation (ROS) are critical parameters for determining whether to apply an EOR process to a reservoir. A brief review of available ROS techniques is presented, indicating advantages, limitations, problems, and possible improvements of each technique.

Definition of Residual Oil Saturation with the Use of Radon Indicator
60th EAGE Conference and Exhibition, 1998Definition of residual oil saturation is one of the key questions when studying oil and gas field. On of the main methods of residual oil saturation definition is an Induction log. For this purpose reference wells equipped with plastic liner are used. An Impulse Neutron-Neutron log can be another method.

Residual Oil Saturations Determined by Core Analysis
Offshore South East Asia Show, 1988ABSTRACT Residual oil saturation determined by several laboratory techniques on core plug specimens from a variety of lithologies in the Asia-Pacific region have been correlated to porosity, initial water saturation and permeability.

Saturation tracking and identification of residual oil saturation
2016Carbonate rocks are of global importance as they contain about 50% of the world’s remaining hydrocarbon reserves and are also a major host to the world’s groundwater resources. Therefore, understanding and modelling the fluid flow processes in carbonates are of great importance.
