Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

On comparison of approximate solutions for linear and nonlinear schrodinger equations

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Technology, 2019
In this paper, homotopy analysis transform method and residual power series method for solving linear and nonlinear Schrödinger equations are introduced. Residual power series algorithm gets Maclaurin expansion of the numerical soliton solutions.

Asteroseismology of 16000 Kepler Red Giants: Global Oscillation Parameters, Masses, and Radii

open access: yes, 2018
The Kepler mission has provided exquisite data to perform an ensemble asteroseismic analysis on evolved stars. In this work we systematically characterize solar-like oscillations and granulation for 16,094 oscillating red giants, using end-of-mission ...

A fast algorithm for LR-2 factorization of Toeplitz matrices [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
In this paper a new order recursive algorithm for the efficient −1 factorization of Toeplitz matrices is described. The proposed algorithm can be seen as a fast modified Gram-Schmidt method which recursively computes the orthonormal columns i, i = 1,2,

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Residual log-periodogram inference for long-run relationships [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We assume that some consistent estimator of an equilibrium relation between non-stationary series integrated of order d(0.5,1.5) is used to compute residuals (or differences thereof).

Feasibility of a ctDNA multigenic panel for non‐small‐cell lung cancer early detection and disease surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Plasma‐based detection of actionable mutations is a promising approach in lung cancer management. Analysis of ctDNA with a multigene NGS panel identified TP53, KRAS, and EGFR as the most frequently altered, with TP53 and KRAS in treatment‐naïve patients and TP53 and EGFR in previously treated patients.

Solution of the Fractional Bratu-Type Equation Via Fractional Residual Power Series Method

open access: yesTatra Mountains Mathematical Publications, 2020
Abstract In this paper, we present numerical solution for the fractional Bratu-type equation via fractional residual power series method (FRPSM). The fractional derivatives are described in Caputo sense. The main advantage of the FRPSM in comparison with the existing methods is that the method solves the nonlinear problems without using ...

Wiener filter reloaded: fast signal reconstruction without preconditioning

open access: yes, 2017
We present a high performance solution to the Wiener filtering problem via a formulation that is dual to the recently developed messenger technique.
