Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

An analytical solution for the evaluation of residual stresses in coiling of metal sheets

open access: yesForces in Mechanics
The coiling process is widely used in the manufacturing industry for the compact storage and transportation of metal sheets. However, this process can induce residual stress in the material, which significantly affects the mechanical properties and ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

History of residual stresses during the production phases of AlSi10Mg parts processed by powder bed additive manufacturing technology

open access: yesVirtual and Physical Prototyping, 2017
Residual stresses can be detrimental to the proper functioning and the structural integrity of built parts. During the selective laser melting (SLM) process, the scanned layers are subjected to rapid thermal cycles.

Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.

The effect of multiple bending of wire on the residual stresses of high carbon steel wires

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2013
Steel tire cord, springs and rope wires belong to the group of metal products from which the low residual stresses are required. In this paper the effect of multiple bending of wire on residual stresses of high carbon steel wires has been assessed.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Investigating the Surface Quality of Aramid Honeycomb Materials Through Longitudinal–Torsional Ultrasonic Milling

open access: yesMachines
During the milling process of aramid honeycomb, residual stresses arise, which will affect the surface quality of the honeycomb. Studies have shown that reasonable processing techniques can reduce residual stresses, indicating a close relationship ...

Cotargeting TREM2 and IL2 pathways triggers multipronged anticancer immunity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Von Locquenghien et al. report that MiTE‐144, a triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) blocking antibody fused to interleukin‐2 (IL2) variant with tumour microenvironment restricted activation, demonstrates superior anticancer efficiency in a preclinical setting.
