Alternative toxicological methods for establishing residue definitions applied for dietary risk assessment of pesticides in the European Union

Food and Chemical Toxicology, 2020
Consumers are constantly exposed to trace levels of residues present in food commodities, arising from the use of pesticides. For this reason, assessing the risk caused by pesticide residues present in food requires not only identification and ...

Towards transparent valorization of food surplus, waste and loss: Clarifying definitions, food waste hierarchy, and role in the circular economy.

Science of the Total Environment, 2019
In this study, the key gaps of food waste prevention have been addressed in the context of the emerging circular economy. First, current terminology related to food waste was reviewed and clarified, in particular, the terms food surplus, waste and losses.

The Norm Residue Theorem in Motivic Cohomology

, 2019
This book presents the complete proof of the Bloch–Kato conjecture and several related conjectures of Beilinson and Lichtenbaum in algebraic geometry. Brought together here for the first time, these conjectures describe the structure of étale cohomology ...

Residual-free imprint for sensor definition

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
For the preparation of interdigitated sensor devices with nanometre sized electrodes a low-cost route is followed. The central technique used for electrode definition is nanoimprint. To imprint the larger contact areas as easy as the electrodes, the contacts are broken down into a grid.

Cue definition and residual judgment

Organizational Behavior and Human Performance, 1974
Abstract A major problem in naturalistic studies is the defining of cues. The problem of cue definition leads to a consideration of the residual variance in modelling the judge. The part of judgment that cannot be modelled (i.e., the residual) is assumed to consist of cues not adequately defined and mis-specification of the integration function.

Supercritical fluid chromatography separation of chiral pesticides: Unique capabilities to study cyhalothrin and metalaxyl as examples.

Journal of Chromatography A, 2020
Evaluation of chiral pesticides remains a frequently neglected matter in routine food control laboratories. This fact is due to the existence of many residue definitions but also due to the lack of robust instrumental methods for the evaluation of these ...

Definition of a New Information-Based Per-Residue Quality Parameter

Journal of Biomolecular NMR, 2005
For biomolecular NMR structures typically only a poor correspondence is observed between statistics derived from the experimental input data and structural quality indicators obtained from the structure ensembles. Here, we investigate the relationship between the amount of available NMR data and structure quality.

Polysialic Acid

Definitions, 2020
A highly negative-charged carbohydrate composed of a linear polymer of alpha 2,8-linked sialic acid residue with potential immunotherapeutic activity. Polysialic acid (PSA) is mainly attached to the neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM), a membrane-bound ...
