Quadratic Residue Number Systems

2002
Complex signal processing can be handled by RNS in a manner similar to standard complex number operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication etc. However, under certain special cases of choice of moduli, the complete decoupling of computation of real and imaginary parts of the result is feasible.

Specialized Residue Number Systems

2016
Several Residue number systems which lead to certain advantages in Signal Processing applications have been described in literature. These are based on concepts of Quadratic Residues, Polynomial Residue Number systems, Modulus replication, logarithmic number systems and those using specialized moduli. These are considered in detail.

Optimizing Residue Number System on FPGA

2016 IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things (iThings) and IEEE Green Computing and Communications (GreenCom) and IEEE Cyber, Physical and Social Computing (CPSCom) and IEEE Smart Data (SmartData), 2016
Originated from Chinese Remainder Theorem in the 4th century AD, Residue Number System (RNS) has been regarded as a promising number representation method in the field of digital computer arithmetic. Even though reconfigurable hardware devices such as Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) have been a popular platform for RNS applications due to its ...

Applications of Residue Number Systems

2002
In this Chapter, some applications of Residue Number System described in literature are reviewed so as to illustrate the various possibilities. Specifically, Digital to Analog Converters, FIR filters, IIR filters, Adaptive filters, 2-D FIR filters and Digital Frequency Synthesis are considered.

Reversible watermarking using Residue Number System

2011 7th International Conference on Information Assurance and Security (IAS), 2011
Reversible watermarking is a process in which the watermark is embedded in such a way that when the watermarked image passes through the authentication process, the original image is also recovered exactly along with watermark. Restoring the original image is important for the applications such as medical, military and law-enforcement etc.

Integrated Photonic Residue Number System Arithmetic

Advanced Photonics 2018 (BGPP, IPR, NP, NOMA, Sensors, Networks, SPPCom, SOF), 2018
Here we show a residue number system (RNS) engine based on integrated nanophotonics. The digit-wise shifting in RNS arithmetic is expressed as spatial routing of an optical signal in 2x2 hybrid photonic-plasmonic switches.

Modular arithmetic and residue number systems

2010
Introduction In many applications integer computations are to be performed modulo some given constant. One such area is cryptology, where often multiplications, inversions, and exponentiations are to be performed modulo some very large integer. Hence we shall here investigate algorithms for such operations in their own right, but also because these ...
