Bio-Based Epoxy Resins Derived From Eugenol With Low Dielectric Constant

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, a series of bio-based epoxy resins containing organic silicone were prepared from eugenol through a mild synthetic route. Then, 4,4'-diaminophenyl methane (DDM) was applied to cure these epoxy resins, and bisphenol A epoxy resin (DGEBA ...

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Effect of solubilization technique on dissolution

open access: yesJournal of Applied Pharmaceutical Research, 2014
More than 40 percent of newly discovered drugs have little or  no water solubility thus the present research aimed at the study of improvement of solublisation on dissolution by addition of different solublising agents and modification of methods ...

High power density technologies for large generators and motors for marine applications with focus on electrical insulation challenges

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2019
High power density generators and motors are envisaged in modern all-electric ships where electrical power for both propulsion and service loads is provided through a common electrical platform known as an integrated power system. Three recent high-power

Electrochemical Evaluation of Compressed Selective Laser Melted AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg Alloys in Chloride Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...

Micro-slurry jet for surface processing of dental ceramics

open access: yesBiosurface and Biotribology, 2019
A micro-slurry jet (MSJ) was used for removing microscopic cracks and microstructural defects on surfaces of dental ceramics, in which the MSJ functioned as a wet blasting machine using mixed alumina particles and water to spray workpiece surfaces by a ...

Recovery of gold from thiosulfate solutions and pulps with anion-exchange resins

open access: yes, 2002
With growing environmental and occupational safety concerns over the use of cyanide in gold processing, more acceptable alternatives are receiving increased interest. The most promising of the possible alternatives is thiosulfate.

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...
