Resolvent analysis for jet noise source identification

open access: yes, 2018
We use resolvent analysis and spectral proper orthogonal decomposition (SPOD) to deduce the acoustic sources for an isothermal Mach 1.5 round jet. Both physics-based resolvent analysis and data-driven SPOD (using a high-fidelity, experimentally-verified,

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Integral Resolvent and Proximal Mixtures

open access: yes
Using the theory of Hilbert direct integrals, we introduce and study a monotonicity-preserving operation, termed the integral resolvent mixture. It combines arbitrary families of monotone operators acting on different spaces and linear operators.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Resolvent estimates for plane Couette flow

open access: yes, 2008
We discuss the problem of deriving estimates for the resolvent of the linear operator associated with three dimensional perturbations of plane Couette flow, and determining its dependence on the Reynolds number R.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Resolvent Systems of Difference Polynomial Ideals

open access: yes, 2005
. In this paper, a new theory of resolvent systems is developed for prime difference ideals and difference ideals defined by coherent and proper irreducible ascending chains. Algorithms to compute such resolvent systems are also given.
