Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Parametric Resonance For Complex Fields [PDF]
Recently, there have been studies of parametric resonance decay of oscillating real homogeneous cosmological scalar fields, in both the narrow-band and broad-band case, primarily within the context of inflaton decay and (p)reheating.

A chaotic system under periodic forcing can develop a periodically visited strange attractor. We discuss simple models in which the phenomenon, quite easy to see in numerical simulations, can be completely studied analytically.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Stochastic Resonance Can Drive Adaptive Physiological Processes [PDF]
Stochastic resonance (SR) is a concept from the physics and engineering communities that has applicability to both systems physiology and other living systems. In this paper, it will be argued that stochastic resonance plays a role in driving behavior in

Localization Properties of the Periodic Random Anderson Model
We consider diagonal disordered one-dimensional Anderson models with an underlying periodicity. We assume the simplest periodicity, i.e., we have essentially two lattices, one that is composed of the random potentials and the other of non-random ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

The aggregation of human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP) can damage the membrane of the β-cells in the pancreatic islets and induce type 2 diabetes (T2D). Growing evidences indicated that the major toxic species are small oligomers of IAPP.
