Optomechanical Transductions in Single and Coupled Wheel Resonators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this report, the optomechanical transductions in both single and two side-coupled wheel resonators are investigated. In the single resonator, the optomechanical transduction sensitivity is determined by the optical and mechanical quality factors of the resonator.

Quantum master equation descriptions of a nanomechanical resonator coupled to a single-electron transistor

open access: yes, 2005
We analyse the quantum dynamics of a nanomechanical resonator coupled to a normal-state single-electron transistor (SET). Starting from a microscopic description of the system, we derive a master equation for the SET island charge and resonator which is ...

Nonlinear coupling of nano mechanical resonators to Josephson quantum circuits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We propose a technique to couple the position operator of a nano mechanical resonator to a SQUID device by modulating its magnetic flux bias. By tuning the magnetic field properly, either linear or quadratic couplings can be realized, with a discretely ...

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Frequency stabilization of the non resonant wave of a continuous-wave singly resonant optical parametric oscillator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present an experimental technique allowing to stabilize the frequency of the non resonant wave in a singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) down to the kHz level, much below the pump frequency noise level. By comparing the frequency of the non resonant wave with a reference cavity, the pump frequency noise is imposed to the frequency of ...

Quantum entanglement between a nonlinear nanomechanical resonator and a microwave field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We consider a theoretical model for a nonlinear nanomechanical resonator coupled to a superconducting microwave resonator. The nanomechanical resonator is driven parametrically at twice its resonance frequency, while the superconducting microwave ...

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

Delta-Interference of Two Friedel Resonances [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
When a single resonator is coupled to a continuous spectrum one obtains a resonance of finite half-width. Such a resonance is known in many fields of physics. The Friedel resonance is an example where a d-impurity is dissolved in a simple metal. If two resonators are coupled to the continuous spectrum the resonances interfere.

Noise properties of two single electron transistors coupled by a nanomechanical resonator

open access: yes, 2005
We analyze the noise properties of two single electron transistors (SETs) coupled via a shared voltage gate consisting of a nanomechanical resonator. Working in the regime where the resonator can be treated as a classical system, we find that the SETs ...

Damping and decoherence of a nanomechanical resonator due to a few two level systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We consider a quantum model of a nanomechanical flexing beam resonator interacting with a bath comprising a few damped tunneling two level systems (TLS's).
