Multidimensional Resource Task Scheduling Based on Particle Swarm Optimization in Edge Computing

open access: yesIEEE Access
The default Kubernetes scheduling algorithm, Balanced Resource Allocation (BRA), has limitations in achieving resource balance. It primarily focuses on the instantaneous utilization of CPU and memory while neglecting the coordinated optimization of disk ...

Semi-Federated Scheduling of Parallel Real-Time Tasks on Multiprocessors

open access: yes, 2017
Federated scheduling is a promising approach to schedule parallel real-time tasks on multi-cores, where each heavy task exclusively executes on a number of dedicated processors, while light tasks are treated as sequential sporadic tasks and share the ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Hierarchical Resource Management for Mega-LEO Satellite Constellation

open access: yesSensors
The mega-low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation is pivotal for the future of satellite Internet and 6G networks. In the mega-LEO satellite constellation system (MLSCS), which is the spatial distribution of satellites, global users, and their ...

Resource and Application Models for Advanced Grid Schedulers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
As Grid computing is becoming an inevitable future, managing, scheduling and monitoring dynamic, heterogeneous resources will present new challenges. Solutions will have to be agile and adaptive, support self-organization and autonomous management, while

Time-Triggered Co-Scheduling of Computation and Communication with Jitter Requirements

open access: yes, 2017
The complexity of embedded application design is increasing with growing user demands. In particular, automotive embedded systems are highly complex in nature, and their functionality is realized by a set of periodic tasks. These tasks may have hard real-

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Proactive resource allocation heuristics for robust project scheduling. [PDF]

open access: yes
The well-known deterministic resource-constrained project scheduling problem (RCPSP) involves the determination of apredictive schedule (baseline schedule or pre-schedule)of the project activities that satisfies the finish-start precedence relations and ...

Resource allocation and scheduling in metasystems

open access: yes, 1999
In this paper we present NWIRE, a new management architecture for metacomputing systems. After the general introduction of the architecture we first describe the properties that are relevant for scheduling. Then we derive general requirements for scheduling strategies in metasystems and point out differences to conventional job scheduling for parallel ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.
