Consecutive combined response spectrum
Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration, 2014Appropriate estimates of earthquake response spectrum are essential for design of new structures, or seismic safety evaluation of existing structures. This paper presents an alternative procedure to construct design spectrum from a combined normalized response spectrum (NRSC) which is obtained from pseudo-velocity spectrum with the ordinate scaled by ...

Spectrum of antiarrhythmic response to encainide
The American Journal of Cardiology, 1985Encainide is effective in suppressing non-life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias; however, inconsistent results have been noted in patients with more serious ventricular arrhythmias. Thirty-seven patients with drug-resistant ventricular arrhythmias were studied. Patients in group I (n = 11) has sustained ventricular tachycardia and those in group II (

Response spectrum-based seismic response of bridge embankments
Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 2020A single degree of freedom model is presented for calculating the free-field seismic response of bridge embankments due to horizontal ground shaking using equivalent linear analysis and a design response spectrum. The shear wave velocity profile, base flexibility, 2D shape, and damping ratio of the embankment are accounted for in the model.

SRS—Spreadsheet Response Spectrum
Journal of the IEST, 1987LOTUS 1-2-3, one of the most popular microcomputer programs, is an integrated spreadsheet, database, and graphics program for organizing and analyzing data in many useful ways. Whereas many 1-2-3 applications tend to be business oriented, a substantial base of engineering software utilizes 1-2-3.

Separation of stages, the separation of the spacecraft from the last stage of the launch vehicle will induce very short duration loads in the internal structure of the spacecraft, the so-called shockloads. The duration of the shockload is, in general, very short with respect to the duration associated with the fundamental natural frequencies of the ...

The Response Spectrum of a Nonlinear Oscillator
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1992The response of a nonlinear oscillator excited by white noise is considered. A truncated Hermite polynomial series is used as an approximation to the probability density function. While this approach has been used before by many authors to obtain statistics such as the time-dependent mean or mean-square values, it has not been noted before that the ...

Modal Response Spectrum Analysis
2015In this example, the modal response spectrum (MRS) method of analysis is used to analyze a sixstory moment resisting frame. The analysis is performed in accordance with Section 12.9 of ASCE 7. The results from the MRS analysis are compared to the results obtained from an equivalent lateral force (ELF) analysis of the same frame.

Inelastic response spectrum: Early history
Earthquake Engineering & Structural Dynamics, 2008AbstractDetailing the time period from, roughly, 1950 through 1980, this Historical Note documents the development of the initial concept of the inelastic response spectrum and how it evolved to become the basis for rational procedures for earthquake‐resistant design, which are used even today. An inverse shock response spectrum
Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, 2011Abstract The shock response spectrum (SRS) is a tool commonly used by application engineers that characterizes the severity of a transient acceleration. Due to the definition of the SRS, neither an analytical nor a unique inverse exists for an arbitrary function.
