Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Stability analysis of multiple nonequilibrium fixed points in self-consistent electron transport calculations

open access: yes, 2011
We present a method to perform stability analysis of nonequilibrium fixed points appearing in self-consistent electron transport calculations. The nonequilibrium fixed points are given by the self-consistent solution of stationary, nonlinear kinetic ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

An approximate procedure for estimating seismic demands for buildings

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
Methods of the estimation of the seismic demands of nonlinear structures require a sort of iterative procedures, no matter the elastic or inelastic response spectra are used in the procedure. Many studies dealt with the development of different inelastic

Checkpoint blockade and the stem‐like T cell trade‐off

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Stem‐like T cells are key to the success of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD1) blockade, as they sustain long‐term anti‐tumor response by continuously generating effector CD8+ T cells. However, how these cells are maintained in cancer is not fully understood. Hor et al.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Response Spectrum Analysis Methods for Spatial Structures

open access: yes, 2009
The current response spectrum method, based on the principle of superposition, is the principal method for seismic analysis of structures. It has been widely adopted by seismic design codes all over the world, although it is limited to linear systems. The progresses of the method are summarized in this paper.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Dynamic Characteristics and Stability Analysis of Space Shuttle Main Engine Oxygen Pump [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The dynamic characteristics of the Space Shuttle high pressure oxygen pump are presented. Experimental data is presented to show the vibration spectrum and response under actual engine operation and also in spin pit testing for balancing. The oxygen pump
