Black-box superconducting circuit quantization

open access: yes, 2012
We present a semi-classical method for determining the effective low-energy quantum Hamiltonian of weakly anharmonic superconducting circuits containing mesoscopic Josephson junctions coupled to electromagnetic environments made of an arbitrary ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

A method to extract pure Raman spectrum of epitaxial graphene on SiC

open access: yes, 2013
A method is proposed to extract pure Raman spectrum of epitaxial graphene on SiC by using a Non-negative Matrix Factorization. It overcomes problems of negative spectral intensity and poorly resolved spectra resulting from a simple subtraction of a SiC ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

The CRIRES Search for Planets Around the Lowest-Mass Stars. I. High-Precision Near-Infrared Radial Velocities with an Ammonia Gas Cell

open access: yes, 2010
Radial velocities measured from near-infrared spectra are a potentially powerful tool to search for planets around cool stars and sub-stellar objects. However, no technique currently exists that yields near-infrared radial velocity precision comparable ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

High-resolution rapid calculation method of neutron spectrum based on energy response

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
Conventional neutron spectrum calculation methods are difficult to achieve both high resolution and high efficiency. This paper presents a high-resolution rapid calculation method of neutron spectrum.

IDENTIFICATION OF DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF AIRCRAFT GAS TEMPERATURE SENSORS

open access: yesПриборы и методы измерений, 2016
The estimation of dynamic behavior of aircraft gas temperature sensors (GTS) has to be done only in certified air installations and be based on recorded experimental transient response in accordance with the departmental standard.

Analytical Continuation Approaches to Electronic Transport: The Resonant Level Model

open access: yes, 2012
The analytical continuation average spectrum method (ASM) and maximum entropy (MaxEnt) method are applied to the dynamic response of a noninteracting resonant level model within the framework of the Kubo formula for electric conductivity.
