Response Surface Methodology and Subjective Data

1976
The use of quadratic models in two or more variables to describe a subjective response is discussed. Attention is given to the principles of experimental design as well as to any special problems incurred by the use of ranking or rating data as a response. An example taken from the textile area serves as an illustration.

Response surface methodology for constrained simulation optimization: An overview

Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory, 2008
Abstract This article summarizes ‘generalized response surface methodology’ (GRSM), extending Box and Wilson’s ‘response surface methodology’ (RSM). GRSM allows multiple random responses, selecting one response as goal and the other responses as constrained variables. Both GRSM and RSM estimate local gradients to search for the optimum.

Response Surface Methodology in Structural Reliability

1997
We first propose to trace some streams of thought which have contributed directly to what we now call Response Surface Methodology (abbreviated to RSM). A mathematical description of RSM is given in section 2.

Response Surface Methodology in Risk Analysis

1980
The Response Surface Methodology as a general approach to the system identification is presented. The method organises several statistical techniques in order to provide an estimate of the p.d.f. of the output variable of the identified system as a function of the p.d.f.’s of the input variable, as the final result.
