Enrichment of hepatic glycogen and plasma glucose from H₂18O informs gluconeogenic and indirect pathway fluxes in naturally feeding mice

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 36, Issue 2, February 2023., 2023
18O‐enrichment of liver glycogen, triglyceride glycerol, and blood glucose of mice given 18O‐water during overnight feeding was quantified by 13C NMR and MS. Glycogen 18O‐enrichment of oxygens 3, 5, and 6 from isotope‐shifted 13C signals informed indirect pathway contributions from different sources.

Glifosato: um problema da ciência e da tecnologia para a sociedade

open access: yesIndagatio Didactica, 2019
Numa definição inicial - sempre é possível se complexificar as definições - podemos dizer que a Química é a ciência que estuda as substâncias, suas transformações e as energias envolvidas nelas. Daí depreende-se que o conceito de Reação Química é central

The C‐terminal extension of VgrG4 from Klebsiella pneumoniae remodels host cell microfilaments

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, Volume 90, Issue 9, Page 1655-1668, September 2022., 2022
Abstract Klebsiella pneumoniae is an opportunistic pathogen, which concerns public health systems worldwide, as multiple antibiotic‐resistant strains are frequent. One of its pathogenicity factors is the Type VI Secretion System (T6SS), a macromolecular complex assembled through the bacterial membranes.

pH‐Triggered Removal of Nitrogenous Organic Micropollutants from Water by Using Metal‐Organic Polyhedra

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 28, Issue 31, June 1, 2022., 2022
MOPping up micropollutants: A new pH‐triggered pollutant‐removal methodology that uses water‐soluble metal‐organic polyhedra (MOPs) as coordinative capturing agents removes nitrogenous organic micropollutants from water. The exohedral coordination positions in the MOP structure are harnessed to coordinatively sequester the coordinating pollutants ...

Benchmarking recombinant Pichia pastoris for 3‐hydroxypropionic acid production from glycerol

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 14, Issue 4, Page 1671-1682, July 2021., 2021
Production of 3‐HP through the Malonyl‐CoA pathway was achieved in Pichia pastoris. Expressing the two subunits of the Malonyl‐CoA reductase separately led to a substantial increase in 3‐HP production. Further metabolic engineering to increase precursors availability increased the 3‐HP titre, achieving a final product concentration of 24.75 g l−1 in ...

Magnetic resonance imaging: basics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A ressonância magnética é a propriedade física exibida por núcleos de determinados elementos que, quando submetidos a um campo magnético forte e excitados por ondas de rádio em determinada freqüência (Freqüência de Larmor), emitem rádio sinal, o qual ...

Amide hydrogens reveal a temperature-dependent structural transition that enhances site-II Ca2+-binding affinity in a C-domain mutant of cardiac troponin C

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The hypertrophic cardiomyopathy-associated mutant D145E, in cardiac troponin C (cTnC) C-domain, causes generalised instability at multiple sites in the isolated protein.
