Association of Calpastatin (CAST) Gene with Growth Traits and Carcass Characteristics in Bali Cattle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Calpastatin (CAST) gene is well known as an inhibitor of muscle protein degradation and relates to muscle growth and meat tenderness. The objective of this study was to determine the association of CAST gene with growth traits and carcass characteristics

Soft‐Drug‐Inspired MnSTF Nano‐Adjuvant for Safe and Synergistic cGAS–STING Activation in Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces MnSTF, a soft‐drug‐inspired nanoadjuvant that overcomes the systemic toxicity of STING agonists. Through Mn2+ coordination with an ENPP1 inhibitor, it enables safe cGAS‐STING activation, remodels the tumor immune microenvironment, and synergizes with radiotherapy or vaccines to elicit robust antitumor immunity.

Genes involved in the regulation of vascular homeostasis determine renal survival rate in patients with chronic glomerulonephritis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this study, we analyzed association of genes of vascular homeostasis with hypertension and renal survival of CGN patients. The study sample included 238 patients with CGN and 304 healthy subjects of population control.

Depletion of the RNA‐Editing Enzyme ADAR1 Invigorates the Antitumor Immunity of NK Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ADAR1 is upregulated in NK cells from melanoma patients, impairing their function. Its loss enhances NK cell tumor infiltration and cytotoxicity in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, ADAR1 deficiency destabilizes CD38 mRNA to reduce its expression, thereby increasing NK cell mobility and killing, which nominates it as a therapeutic target for NK cell ...

Single‐Cell Mitochondrial Lineage Tracing Decodes Fate Decision and Spatial Clonal Architecture in Human Hematopoietic Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study repurposes mitochondrial DNA mutations as endogenous barcodes for lineage tracing in human pluripotent stem cell‐derived organoids. Integrated with transcriptomic and spatial data, it reveals NOTCH‐mediated stromal‐progenitor crosstalk orchestrates clonal dynamics and spatial zonation during early hematopoietic development, offering a non ...

A comparison between CHROMagar, PCR-RFLP and PCR-FSP for identification of Candida species

open access: yesCurrent Medical Mycology, 2017
Background and Purpose: The epidemiological alteration in the distribution of Candida species, as well as the significantly increasing trend of either intrinsic or acquired resistance of some of these fungi highlights the need for a reliable method for ...

Possibilities of using nested PCR-RFLP for taxonomic identification of L3 larvae of the family Trichostrongylidae, Leiper, 1912

open access: yesРоссийский паразитологический журнал
The purpose of the research is to apply molecular genetic research methods to identify the taxonomic affiliation of gastrointestinal parasitic sheep nematodes of the family Trichostrongylidae using nested PCR followed by the restriction fragment length ...

RESTRICTION FRAGMENT LENGTH POLYMORPHISM IN CARROT

open access: yesHortScience, 1993
Studies of genetic variation at the DNA level in the genus Daucus have been very limited. Recently, molecular markers based on restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) have been shown to be highly useful and efficient gene markers in other plant and animal species. We have used a total of 40 carrot strains (inbreds, varieties, species) for this ...
