Experimental galvanic anode for cathodic protection of Bridge A12112 [PDF]
Cathodic Protection (CP) has been used by MoDOT for more than 30 years to stopcorrosion of reinforced concrete bridge decks. These systems require power from local electricalconnections.

Objective-Oriented Health Systems Reform
This paper emphasizes the importance of orienting health system reforms to address underlying system-level performance problems. Too often in practice, the objective-orientation that is stressed in health system frameworks gets lost in relation to ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Arthroscopic ankle arthrodesis for end-stage ankle osteoarthritis
Arthroscopic ankle arthrodesis (AAA) has been performed for 40 years for end-stage ankle osteoarthritis. Along with open ankle arthrodesis (OAA) and total ankle replacement (TAR), it forms one arm of the triumvirate of commonly performed procedures for ...
