Bayesian inverse ensemble forecasting for COVID‐19
Abstract Variations in strains of COVID‐19 have a significant impact on the rate of surges and on the accuracy of forecasts of the epidemic dynamics. The primary goal for this article is to quantify the effects of varying strains of COVID‐19 on ensemble forecasts of individual “surges.” By modelling the disease dynamics with an SIR model, we solve the ...

HERA data and collinearly-improved BK dynamics
Within the framework of the dipole factorisation, we use a recent collinearly-improved version of the Balitsky-Kovchegov equation to fit the HERA data for inclusive deep inelastic scattering at small Bjorken x.

Unification of the kT and threshold resummations [PDF]
We derive a resummation formula for a $k_T$-dependent parton distribution function at threshold, where $k_T$ is a parton transverse momentum. The derivation requires infrared cutoffs for both longitudinal and transverse loop momenta as evaluating soft gluon emissions in the Collins-Soper resummation framework.

Resummations in Hot Scalar Electrodynamics [PDF]
The gauge-boson sector of perturbative scalar electrodynamics is investigated in detail as a testing ground for resummation methods in hot gauge theories. It also serves as a simple non-trivial reference system for the non-Abelian gluon plasma.

A goodness‐of‐fit test for regression models with discrete outcomes
Abstract Regression models are often used to analyze discrete outcomes, but classical goodness‐of‐fit tests such as those based on the deviance or Pearson's statistic can be misleading or have little power in this context. To address this issue, we propose a new test, inspired by the work of Czado et al.

Towards parton distribution functions with small-x resummation: HELL 2.0
In global fits of parton distribution functions (PDFs) a large fraction of data points, mostly from the HERA collider, lies in a region of x and Q 2 that is sensitive to small-x logarithmic enhancements.

Jackknife bias‐corrected variance estimation for the generalized regression estimator
Abstract Commonly used variance estimators for the generalized regression estimator (GREG) are based on Taylor linearization and jackknife. Traditionally, a jackknife GREG variance estimator is obtained by jackknifing GREG, which consists of computing GREG from each of several subsamples of the parent sample, and estimating the variance of the parent ...

Self consistent thermal resummation: a case study of the phase transition in 2HDM
An accurate description of the scalar potential at finite temperature is crucial for studying cosmological first-order phase transitions (FOPT) in the early Universe.

reSolve — A transverse momentum resummation tool [PDF]
In this note, we introduce the new tool reSolve, a Monte Carlo differential cross-section and parton-level event generator whose main purpose is to add transverse momentum resummation to a general class of inclusive processes at hadron colliders, namely all those which do not involve hadrons or jets in the measured final state.
