Microstructures and stability of retained austenite in TRIP steels
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2006Abstract Transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steels exhibit a combination of high strength and ductility due to their multi-phase microstructure, including ferrite, bainite and retained austenite which transforms to martensite under the external stress.

Retained austenite in intercritically annealed HSLA steel
Metallography, 1987Abstract The effects of processing parameters on austenite retention in intercritically annealed HSLA steels have been investigated. Low-temperature tempering was found to be necessary for successful tint etch of high-carbon martensite in dual-phase structure with sodium metabisulfite.

On the stabilization of retained austenite: mechanism and kinetics
Materials Science and Engineering: B, 1995Abstract Stabilization of retained austenite is now well established and refers primarily to a process where further martensite transformation is hindered. However, the literature shows a wide variety of ways in which this impediment can be brought into play.

Lattice parameter measurement in retained austenite by CBED
Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1983The thin film (50-400 Å) retained austenite (ret-γ) (fig.1.a-b) has been identified at the lath boundaries of dislocated martensitic medium carbon (C) low alloy experimental steels, which were designed for structural applications. The existance of this parent γ-phase at the ambient temperatures has been attributed to several stabilization mechanisms in

An analysis of retained austenite in austempered ductile iron
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 2003Data from the literature have been analyzed to understand aspects of the retained austenite in austempered ductile irons, especially its relationship with the transformation mechanism of bainite.
