Vision outcomes in dogs with primary glaucoma surgically treated with lensectomy and endolaser cyclophotocoagulation after an Ahmed valve gonioimplantation failure

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 207-217, March 2025.
Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to retrospectively evaluate vision outcomes of dogs with primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG) that underwent Ahmed valve gonioimplantation (AVG) followed by lensectomy and endolaser cyclophotocoagulation (ECP) with or without bleb resection after AVG failure.

Amacrine cell inputs to OFF midget ganglion cells in macaque retina

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend The goal of this study was to explain the findings from physiological studies that OFF midget ganglion cells had larger receptive field centers than expected from their dendritic field diameters. First, we confirmed that OFF mRGCs (OFF MGC) receive input from diffuse bipolar cells (DB) as well as OFF midget bipolar cells (FMB ...

The what, which, when, why and who of Off responses in the auditory system

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend In this article, we will first review ‘What’ different mechanisms are involved in the generation of Off responses at the sub‐cortical and cortical level of the auditory system. Then, we evaluate ‘Which’ stimulus properties elicit Off responses at the different levels of the auditory system.

The neuronal chaperone proSAAS is highly expressed in the retina.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
The many layers of the neuroretina contain a complex, interconnected network of specialized neurons that both process visual stimuli and conduct processed information to higher brain areas.

Unveiling a New Link: Cholesterol Deficiency in Smith–Lemli–Opitz and Niemann–Pick C as a Driver of Ciliopathies

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 200, Issue 6, Page 1179-1191, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The ciliopathies are a group of genetic disorders caused by defective function of either the primary cilia (a large number) or the motile cilia (a much smaller number). These have been defined as diseases with mutations in genes encoding individual ciliary or cilia‐associated proteins.

Imaging tamoxifen retinopathy using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography

open access: yesGMS Ophthalmology Cases, 2011
A case of tamoxifen retinopathy examined with spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) is presented. The typical refractile deposits are located between ganglion cell layer and inner plexiform layer in SD-OCT.
