[Retinal vein occlusion: Therapy of retinal vein occlusion].
Treatment of retinal vein occlusion can be systemic or local. Therapeutic strategies include improved blood supply, treatment of the vision-reducing macular edema by intravitreal injection of inhibitors of vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF) or corticosteroids and laser photocoagulation for neovascular complications.

The oscillatory response of the electroretinogram and neuronal adaptation
Abstract After more than 50 years, there still remains a challenge and an interest to know more as well as extend and deepen our understanding of the small rapid wavelets, the oscillatory potentials (OPs), of the electroretinogram (ERG) and the neuronal adaptation of the retina.

Circulating angiogenesis‐related biomarkers in sickle cell retinopathy and maculopathy
Summary Sickle cell disease (SCD), encompassing genotypes such as HbSS and HbSC, leads to retinal complications such as sickle cell retinopathy (SCR) and maculopathy (SCM) through poorly understood mechanisms. This study explored associations of a panel of circulating angiogenesis‐related factors with SCR and SCM.

Retinal micro-vascular and aortic macro-vascular changes in postmenopausal women with primary hyperparathyroidism [PDF]
Aim of the study was to evaluate the micro and macro-vascular changes in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) compared to controls. 30 postmenopausal PHPT women (15 hypertensive and 15 normotensive) and 30 normotensive controls underwent ...

Addressing complexity in the study of life sciences through Systems Biology and Systems Medicine has been transformative, making Systems Pharmacology the next logical step. In this review, we focus on physical stimuli, whose potential in pharmacology has been neglected, despite demonstrated therapeutic properties.
