Liquid-gel partition chromatography of vitamin A compounds; formation of retinoic acid from retinyl acetate in vivo

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1974
A clear separation of retinol, retinal, and retinoic acid has been achieved by liquid–gel partition chromatography on Sephadex LH-20 with solvent mixtures of chloroform, Skellysolve B, and methanol.

Substrate specificity of retinyl ester hydrolase activity in retinal pigment epithelium

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1998
In the eye, hydrolysis of stored retinyl esters is catalyzed by retinyl ester hydrolase (REH) activities in retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) membranes.

Nutritional c‐Fos Induction Rewires Hepatic Metabolism and Can Promote Obesity‐Associated Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 47, December 18, 2025.
It is shown that hepatic c‐Fos responds to feeding, altering de novo lipogenesis, glycolysis, and a wide range of steatosis‐associated metabolic signaling pathways. Obesogenic diets cause hepatic c‐Fos overexpression, insulin resistance, and the induction of metabolic reprogramming‐related genes.

Examination of CORN‐fermented protein and high protein distillers dried grains to replace fish meal and poultry meal in juvenile rainbow trout diets

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 56, Issue 5, October 2025.
Abstract The ability of high‐value plant protein concentrates to replace fish meal and other expensive animal proteins in diets for rainbow trout depends on their available nutrient composition, cost and consistency. The aim of this study was to assess the effects of two novel corn protein products (ANDVantage™ 40Y and ANDVantage™ 50Y, The Andersons ...

Dietary ethanol is associated with reduced lipolysis of intestinally derived lipoproteins.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1994
An acute oral fat load produces transient lipemia that is enhanced by the simultaneous ingestion of ethanol. This phenomenon has been reinvestigated in six normal subjects who consumed three different fat loads with and without ethanol.
