Properties of solutions to a second order nonlinear differential equation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1990
In this note, we show when all solutions to the nonlinear differential equation x″+c(t)f(x)g(x′)x′+a(t,x)=0 are bounded. Furthermore, the solutions are either oscillatory or monotonic and asymptotically stable.

On the boundedness and oscillation of solutions to (m(t)x′)′+a(t)b(x)=0

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1987
In this paper, we discuss under what conditions the solutions to (m(t)x′)′+a(t)b(x)=0 are bounded, oscillatory, and stable. Furthermore, some applications of these results are given during the discussion and proofs of the theorems.

General boundedness theorems to some second order nonlinear differential equation with integrable forcing term

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1995
In this note we present a boundedness theorem to the equation x″+c(t,x,x′)+a(t)b(x)=e(t) where e(t) is a continuous absolutely integrable function over the nonnegative real line. We then extend the result to the equation x″+c(t,x,x′)+a(t,x)=e(t).
