Retroperitoneal sarcomas

Current Treatment Options in Oncology, 2000
The approach to the management of retroperitoneal tumors begins with a complete history and physical examination. Imaging of the abdomen and pelvis by computed tomography (CT) provides both an imaging modality and a method by which to obtain tissue for diagnosis.

Retroperitoneal Sarcomas

Surgical Clinics of North America, 2016
Retroperitoneal sarcomas are rare tumors, representing only 15% of all sarcomas. The mainstay of therapy is surgical resection with negative margins. However, this is challenging because of the late presentation of many of these tumors and involvement with adjacent structures.

Retroperitoneal Seminoma

Journal of Urology, 1977
A case of retroperitoneal seminoma is discussed, emphasizing the importance of diagnosing the primary lesion. Although the testes were normal to palpation and exploration a focus of seminoma was recognized in the left testicle. We prefer radical treatment of this potentially curable disease.

Retroperitoneal sarcomas

Surgical Oncology Clinics of North America, 2003
Retroperitoneal sarcomas comprise a rare, heterogeneous group of neoplasms. Routine workup should include the patient's medical history, a physical examination, and helical CT of the abdomen and pelvis, with selective use of MRI and preoperative tissue sampling. The primary treatment is complete surgical resection with a rim of normal tissue.
