Impact of affluence, nuclear and alternative energy on US carbon emissions from 1960 to 2014

open access: yesEnergy Strategy Reviews, 2020
Using the extended STIRPAT model, this research examines the influence of various factors on US carbon emission from 1960 to 2019, including nuclear and alternative energy of total, fossil energy of total, GDP per capita, total population, urban ...

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Acoustic emission monitoring reveals keyhole formation and evolution

open access: yesScientific Reports
We present results from airborne acoustic emission (AE) monitoring during the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) process. A distinct acoustic signature was consistently observed alongside keyhole formation and plume instability, with its frequency inversely proportional to the depth of the melt pool.

Spatially Resolved Cathodoluminescence in the Vicinity of Defects in the High-Efficiency InGaN/GaN Blue Light Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvances in Condensed Matter Physics, 2014
In addition to the standard 447 nm blue emission from the InGaN/GaN multiple quantum wells, a high-energy shoulder is clearly observed in cathodoluminescence spectra of the high-efficiency InGaN/GaN blue light emitting diodes grown on sapphire substrates

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Impact of urban industrial evolution on carbon emission efficiency in Yangtze River Delta [PDF]

open access: yesZiyuan Kexue
[Objective] Driven by both the “dual carbon” goals and the development of new quality productive forces, industrial transformation has become a core approach for enhancing carbon emission efficiency.

Confined-domain crosslink-enhanced emission effect in carbonized polymer dots

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications, 2022
Confined-domain crosslink-enhanced emission effect was first studied to reveal the photoluminescence mechanism of carbonized polymer dots (CPDs). A general strategy was exploited to synthesize CPDs exhibiting tunable photoluminescence properties.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

The Ultraviolet-Visible Luminescence of Ce3+ in Ca2Mg(BO3)2 Phosphors with Potential Applications

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, 2023
New phosphors Ca2Mg(BO3)2: Ce3+ were synthesized by the solid-state reaction method at a high temperature. The phase purity was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD).

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
