Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Effect of terahertz irradiation on DNA damage repair in living cells

We investigated the effect of terahertz (THz) wave irradiation on DNA double‐strand break (DSB) repair in living cells. We found that THz irradiation enhanced DSB repair at specific frequencies, whereas heat treatment inhibited it, indicating that this effect is nonthermal and frequency‐specific.

Fenceline measurements reveal regional disparities in United States refinery benzene emissions and emission sources

United States petroleum refineries have measured fenceline ambient concentrations of benzene since 2018 to comply with an Environmental Protection Agency rule. Benzene is a known carcinogen that is present in most fugitive emissions from refineries.
