Anisotropic damage of titanium plates under uniaxial tension after reverse bending

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2018
Influence of low-cycle reverse bending and the crystallographic texture on damage anisotropy of commercial titanium sheets during the subsequent uniaxial tensile tests was studied.

Mechanical Stability of Amorphous Silicon Thin-Film Devices on Polyimide for Flexible Sensor Platforms [PDF]

open access: yesSensors
Hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) is a mature thin-film technology for large-area devices and thin-film sensors, and its low-temperature growth via Plasma-Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) makes it particularly suitable for biomedical ...

Prediction of Large Springback in the Forming of Long Profiles Implementing Reverse Stretch and Bending

open access: yesJournal of Experimental and Theoretical Analyses
Springback represents the deflection of a workpiece after releasing the forming tools or dies, which influences the quality and precision of the final products. It is basically governed by the elastic strain recovery of the material after unloading. Most

Low emittance lattice design from first principles: Reverse bending and longitudinal gradient bends [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2019
A unit cell with one homogeneous bending magnet is commonly used in the design of multi-bend achromat (MBA) lattices for the new generation of diffraction limited storage rings.

Optimizing clavicle hook plate fixation through biomechanical analysis of pre-bent plate condition and screw configurations [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
ObjectiveClavicle hook plates are widely used for internal fixation of clavicle fractures, yet little biomechanical evidence exists to guide optimal plate contouring, screw selection, and screw-hole management. This study aimed to systematically evaluate

A numerical study on the influence of bauschinger effect on springback in reverse bending [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Methods in Materials Science, 2008
It is essential to model the Bauschinger effect correctly for sheet metal forming process simulation and subsequent springback prediction when material points are subjected to cyclic loading conditions.

A MHD reverse flow in 90 degree bend [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of Fluids, 2018
A two-dimensional flow in a 90 degree bent channel is considered. A magnetic field is uniform and parallel to inlet branch of the channel. A spectral/hp element method was used for liquid motion calculations. Three types of steady flows were detected. It was found that magnetic forces can suppress a pressure gradient and throw out liquid from the inlet,

Evolution of structural response to post-trenching of free-spanning submarine pipeline

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun, 2022
The free-spanning submarine pipeline has complex interaction with the surrounding soil during post-trenching, but its structural response mechanism is still not verified by physical simulation. Herein, a submarine pipeline model was designed based on the

Observation of Flexibility Reversal in DNA Bending [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2017
Several experiments on DNA looping show that DNA looping probability at short length scales is higher than the prediction of the wormlike chain model. This observation suggests that DNA becomes more flexible at large bending angles and hints at the possibility that sequence dependence of flexibility may not be universal across different bending regimes.
