Engineering Materials Evaluation by Reversed Bending
1969A method for conducting low cycle fatigue tests by reversed bending is described. The advantages of bend (flexure) testing lie in its simplicity, specimen stability at high strain levels, and minimal equipment costs. Description of the method includes (1) types of specimens, (2) equipment construction and operation, (3) stress and strain measurements ...

Reverse bending of crystals of silver chloride
Philosophical Magazine, 1960Abstract The reverse bending of single crystal bars of silver chloride that have already been singly bent has been studied by using the photoelmtic effect. There is no indication of the preferential deformation at a certain place on the bar found when annealed crystals are bent. This is also true if the crystals are first heated at temperatures between

25—REVERSIBLE TWIST AND BENDING PHENOMENA IN KERATIN FIBRES
Journal of the Textile Institute Transactions, 1954In giving wool yarns a temporary set it has been observed that, although some tendency to snarl is removed by wetting, a considerably greater effect is obtained during the subsequent drying period. This effect was found to be reversible. The present paper gives an account of the detailed investigation of this property for cow's-tail fibres.

Rotating-Beam Reversed-Bending Fatigue Curves
2004Abstract This data set contains the results of rotating-beam reversed-bending fatigue tests for a wide range of aluminum casting alloys. These fatigue curves are the results of tests on individual lots of material considered representative of the respective alloys and tempers.

Femtosecond OH Bending Dynamics of Water Nanopools Confined In Reverse Micelles
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2013The relaxation of OH bend excitations of H2O confined in reverse micelles is studied by femtosecond broadband pump-probe spectroscopy for the two ionic systems dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate (AOT) and dioleoylphosphatidylcholine (DOPC) and for the nonionic tetraethylene glycol dodecyl ether (Brij-30).

Incremental extension of mild steel beams in reversed bending
Journal of Strain Analysis, 1966The incremental extension of rectangular section mild steel beams under cycles of symmetrical reversed bending is examined at a frequency of 10 c/min. An explanation of this phenomenon is outlined on the basis of changes in the geometry of the cross-section and the introduction of radial stresses.

Failure of a Structural Bolt Due to Reversed-Bending Fatigue
2019Abstract A portion of a 19 mm (0.75 in.) diam structural steel bolt was found on the floor of a manufacturing shop. This shop contained an overhead crane system that ran on rails supported by girders and columns. Inspection of the crane system revealed that the bolt had come from a joint in the supporting girders and could be considered ...

A Criterion for Fully Reversed Out-of-Phase Torsion and Bending
1985This paper presents a new design criterion for fully reversed out-of-phase torsion and bending fatigue. This criterion, similar in spirit to that proposed by Kanazawa, Miller, and Brown, is derived as an extension of Gough's ellipse quadrant. Theories and tests under “in-phase” torsion and bending fatigue are briefly reviewed.
