Flow reversal in natural circulation systems
Applied Thermal Engineering, 2003Boiling flow in natural circulation systems can be susceptible to thermohydrodynamic instabilities which can be the cause of mechanical damage. This paper presents an analysis of a circulation system where two unequal heated riser circuits are connected to a common downcomer. It can be shown that for such systems a critical heat absorption ratio exists

Influence of Substrate Conductivity on Circulation Reversal in Evaporating Drops
Physical Review Letters, 2007Nonuniform evaporation from sessile droplets induces radial convection within the drop, which produces the well-known "coffee-ring" effect. The evaporation also induces a gradient in temperature and consequently a gradient in surface tension, generating a Marangoni flow.

[Significance of collateral circulation in reversible asynergy].
Journal of cardiology, 1991The functional role of collateral circulation in reversible asynergy of the left ventricle was evaluated. Cineventriculograms were obtained before and after the administration of sublingual nitroglycerin (0.3 mg) in 19 patients with complete occlusion of the proximal portion of the left anterior descending coronary artery.

Reversible Stoppage of the Blood Circulation in Sabellids
Nature, 1933SABELLIDS are marine polychaete worms, the blood system of which is peculiar, both anatomically and physiologically. Numerous capillaries are present, in the body wall, in the branchial crown, and projecting freely into the body cavity, all of them ending blindly. Most of the blood vessels in the body contract rhythmically.

Extravascular circulation of lipoproteins: their role in reverse transport of cholesterol
Atherosclerosis, 1994The transfer of lipoproteins out of plasma into peripheral tissues, their flow through the interstitium and their return to blood has been reviewed. In this context special emphasis has been given to reports dealing with the movement of lipoproteins into and out of the wall of arteries.
