Grouping Factors and the Reverse Contrast Illusion
Perception, 2015In simultaneous lightness contrast, two identical gray target squares lying on backgrounds of different intensities appear different in lightness. Traditionally, this illusion was explained by lateral inhibitory mechanisms operating retinotopically. More recently, spatial filtering models have been preferred.

Factors predicting atracurium reversal time
Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, 1999Background: To identify individual factors and combination of factors predictive of reversal time (defined as time from neostigmine administration to train‐of‐four (TOF) ratio 0.70) from atracurium‐induced neuromuscular block, the present study tested the following variables as possible predictors of reversal time: 1) degree of block at the time of ...

Factors Influencing the Outcome of Vasectomy Reversal
British Journal of Urology, 1980Summary— Fifty‐six vasectomy reversals performed during the period 1976 to 1978 have been reviewed with reference to factors which might influence the outcome. Spermatozoa appeared in the ejaculate in 51 (91%) and remained in numbers greater than 10 million per ejaculate in ...

Factors involved in the paradox of reverse epidemiology
Clinical Nutrition, 2010The hypothesis of reverse epidemiology holds that some cardiovascular risk factors, such as obesity, hypercholesterolemia and hypertension, in the elderly or in some chronic diseases are not harmful but permit better survival. However, this phenomenon is controversial and the underlying reasons are poorly understood. To search for factors simultaneously

On factors affecting the reversible superrrecipitation of actomyosin
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1950Abstract 1. 1. The reaction between actomyosin and ATP was studied by measuring light transmission within various angles. 2. 2. The effects of PH and temperature on superprecipitation as measured by light transmission is described. 3. 3. The temperature effect is reversible within the PH range 8.0–9.5. 4. 4.

Reversible component transforms by the LU factorization
28th Picture Coding Symposium, 2010A scaled transform is defined for a given irreversible linear transformation based on the LU factorization of a nonsingular matrix so that the transformation may be computed in a lifting form and hence may be reversible. Round-off errors in the lifting computation and the computational complexity are analyzed.

On the factors controlling the reversibility of DNA denaturation
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1962The experiments described in this paper distinguish two processes which lead to a reversal of DNA denaturation and to the re-formation of long-stacked arrays of nucleotide pairs. Type I reversibility is a very rapid intramolecular process which occurs in DNA preparations from viral, bacterial and animal sources, in solvents varying greatly in ionic ...

The Effects of Temporal Factors on Reversal and Half-Reversal Shifts
The American Journal of Psychology, 1974The stimuli were nonsense figures, and the design varied type of shift (reversal, half-reversal), amount of preshift training (undertraining, fixed-trial overtraining, behaviorally defined overtraining), and temporal factors (group 20-.6, group 3-3, group .6-.6; the first digits show intertrial interval in seconds, and the second digits show ...
