Development of a spring-less RF MEMS switch
This thesis reports on the development of a novel 77GHz low loss MEMS switch with a mechanically unrestrained armature, over a RF transmitting coplanar waveguide. Electrostatic actuation is used during the switching operation.

The Burden: Hearing loss (HL) is the most prevalent sensory disorder globally, affecting 1.5 million individuals in Brazil. The Gap: While > 150 genes are linked to HL, the genetic architecture in underrepresented populations like Brazil is poorly defined. The Problem: This lack of data limits diagnostic yield and the application of precision medicine.

This study demonstrates that full‐thickness 3D in vitro skin models reliably assess the permeation of cosmetic polyphenols, revealing compound‐specific transport profiles and bridging the gap between conventional cell models and ex vivo human skin, while offering an ethical and robust alternative for dermal absorption screening. Abstract The evaluation
