RFLP mapping of QTL for fusarium head blight resistance in wheat
, 1999Recent epidemics of fusarium head blight (FHB), caused by Fusarium graminearum Schwabe (telomorph: Gibberella zeae), in the USA and Canada have caused severe yield and quality losses in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Development of resistant cultivars has

The soybean is one of the oldest cultivated crops. It first emerged as a domesticated plant around the 11th century B.C. (Hymowitz 1970), although references to soybean appear in books written over 4500 years ago (Smith and Huyser 1987). The soybean was first planted in the United States in Thunderbolt, GA, in 1765 (Hymowitz and Harlan 1983).

Construction of an RFLP map of barley
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1991In order to construct an RFLP map of barley, two populations were analyzed using 251 genomic and cDNA markers: one population comprised 71 F1 antherderived double haploid (DH) individuals of an intraspecific cross (IGRI x FRANKA), and the other 135 individuals of an interspecific F2/F3 progeny (VADA x H. spontaneum).

Determination of HCV Genotypes by RFLP
2003Several different methods have been developed for the typing of HCV variants: direct sequence analysis, slot-blot hybridization analysis of reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) products using cDNA probes specific to each HCV genotype and PCR amplification using type-specific primers that are designed to match only virus sequences of

ITS-RFLP analysis, an efficient tool for differentiation of Bursaphelenchus species
, 2009Restriction analysis of amplified ribosomal ITS sequences has provided species-specific fragment patterns for nematodes of several genera, including Bursaphelenchus.

Barley, Hordeum vulgare L., is among the oldest cultivated crops dating 5000 to 7000 years B.C. (Clark 1967; Harlan 1976, 1979) and perhaps much older (Wendorf et al. 1979). Barley has also been a favorite genetic experimental organism since the rediscovery of Mendel’s laws of heredity (Tschermak 1901; cited from Smith 1951).
