Monitoring wildlife using long‐endurance solar‐electric UAVs
This report discusses the effectiveness of using small solar‐electric UAV (uncrewed aerial vehicles) for aerial wildlife monitoring. We review four years of aerial wildlife monitoring missions using a 5.5‐m wingspan, solar‐electric UAV that was equipped with a gimballed IR/RGB camera.

Abstract Brain tumour segmentation employing MRI images is important for disease diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment planning. Till now, many encoder‐decoder architectures have been developed for this purpose, with U‐Net being the most extensively utilised. However, these architectures require a lot of parameters to train and have a semantic gap. Some

SFK: Shape‐ and Function‐Grounded Keypoint Representation for Sequential Manipulation
ABSTRACT Sequential manipulation is the process by which robots perform multiple interdependent steps to accomplish composite tasks, demanding tight integration of perception, planning and execution. Existing methods incorporate explicit features such as category, semantics, 6D pose or affordance to enhance consistency, yet single‐feature ...

Image‐Based Spatio‐Temporal Interpolation for Split Rendering
Abstract Low‐powered devices – such as small form factor head‐mounted displays (HMDs) – struggle to deliver a smooth and high‐quality viewing experience, due to their limited power and rendering capabilities. Cloud rendering attempts to solve the quality issue, but leads to prohibitive latency and bandwidth requirements, hindering use with HMDs over ...

NePO: Neural Point Octrees for Large‐Scale Novel View Synthesis
We introduce Neural Point Octrees (NePOs), a scalable radiance field representation that organises point clouds hierarchically for efficient optimisation and rendering of large scale scenes. NePOs enable level of detail selection, joint refinement of appearance and camera poses, and real‐time rendering of hundreds of millions of points.

Hand Hygiene Poses Recognition with RGB-D Videos
Hand hygiene is the most effective way in preventing the health care-associated infection. In this work, we propose to investigate the automatic recognition of the hand hygiene poses with RGB-D videos. Different classifiers are experimented with the Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) features extracted from the hand regions.
