Evaluation of the frequency of ABO and Rh-Hr blood-group systems in different acquired cataracts type [PDF]

open access: goldBMC Research Notes, 2023
Abstract Objectives This study evaluated the relationship between acquired cataract’s different types and the ABO and Rh blood classes. Methods Overall, 520 patients, by randomized sampling method, participated in this retrospective cross-sectional study. After reviewing the

Some Observations on Blood Factors RhA, RhB and RC of the Rh-Hr Blood Group System [PDF]

open access: bronzeBlood, 1959
Abstract The complex serologic behavior of the Rh-Hr agglutinogens has been underlined by the recent discovery that, with very rare exceptions, associated with blood factor Rho of Rh-positive blood, there are numerous other blood factors which may be designated RhA, RhB, RhC, etc.

High-density cultivation of Lactobacillus plantarum NCU116 in an ammonium and glucose fed-batch system

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Biotechnology, 2011
Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) constitute a heterogeneous group of bacteria which are found in diverse environments such as the human body, animals and plants. In this study, we reported a simple fedbatch process for Lactobacillus plantarum NCU116 with high cell density.

[Anti-G antibodies of the RH-HR blood-group system. II. Studies of the occurrence of the antibodies and their isolation from anti-C + D sera].

open access: yesActa haematologica Polonica, 1991
In a study of 46 sera accepted on the basis of routine tests as anti-C + D in 22 cases (50%) coexistence of anti-G antibodies was demonstrated. By means of an evolved and tried out method the possibility is presented of obtaining mino-specific anti-G eluates which may be used for phenotypic studies.

Chimpanzee R-C-E-F Blood Group System: a Counterpart of the Human Rh-Hr Blood Groups

open access: closedFolia Primatologica, 1980
A chimpanzee blood group system is defined by a set of isoimmune antisera, anti-Rc, anti-Cc, anti-Ec, anti-Fc, anti-cc and anti-c, that distinguish 19 blood types. Population analysis of 285 unrelated animals and the study of 21 chimpanzee families support the postulated model of inheritance by 9 allelic genes. There is a close relationship between the

Blood Group Homologues in Orangutans and Gorillas of the Human Rh-Hr and the Chimpanzee C-E-F Systems

open access: closedFolia Primatologica, 1973
In a previous study on homologues of the human Rh-Hr types in apes, weak agglutination of orangutan red cells by human anti-Rho and anti-hr’ sera was observed. Lack of adequate amounts of orangutan red cells needed for absorption experiments did not allow to ascertain whether the weak reactions were due to variants of the Rho and hr’ factors on ...

[Interaction between the ABO and Rh-Hr blood group systems in pairs of monozygotic (MZ) and dizygotic (DZ) twins].

open access: closedBollettino della Societa italiana di biologia sperimentale, 1980
Previous studies have revealed significant deviations of twin pairs' blood group distributions. A comparison between monozygotic (MZ) and dizygotic (DZ) pairs in a sample of 688 twin pairs as to interaction between ABO and Rh indicates that the main contribution to total deviation comes from the MZ pairs, thus confirming a different behaviour of the ...
