Capillary non-Newtonian seepage model of unvulcanized rubber expressed by the four-parameter rheological flow

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2023
Micro-bubbles and pores in a tire, generated by the seepage process of rubber into steel cord, seriously degrade the safety of the tire in use. However, unclear seepage behavior of unvulcanized rubber while flowing into the interstice of steel cord makes

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Morphology and melt rheology of nylon 11/clay nanocomposites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Nylon 11 (PA11)/clay nanocomposites have been prepared by melt-blending, followed by melt-extrusion through a capillary. Transmission electron microscopy shows that the exfoliated clay morphology is dominant for low nanofiller content, while the ...

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Simulation of gelled propellant doughs isothermal flow through extrusion dies using finite difference method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
During the ram extrusion of gelled propellants, the possible flow instabilities can affect the extruded propellant quality. The numerical modelling helps to enhance the geometry of extrusion die, by minimizing the product distortion caused by material ...
