The effects of shear rate and capillary length-to-diameter ratio on isothermal extrudate swell of polymer melts [PDF]
The objective in this article is to establish useful composition-processing structure-property relationships for predicting the rheological properties of automotive type multi-component polymer liquids, and to determine the effects of shear rate and ...

Rheological effects in the linear response and spontaneous fluctuations of a sheared granular gas [PDF]
The decay of a small homogeneous perturbation of the temperature of a dilute granular gas in the steady uniform shear flow state is investigated. Using kinetic theory based on the inelastic Boltzmann equation, a closed equation for the decay of the ...

Effects of Rowing on Rheological Properties of Blood
The aim of this study was to analyze the selected hematological and rheological indices in female rowers during the competitive season. The study included 10 female rowers (aged 21.2 ± 2.6) and the control group consisted of 10 woman of corresponding age (non-athletes).

Enhancing the performance of Xanthan gum in water-based mud systems using an environmentally friendly biopolymer [PDF]
Xanthan gum is commonly used in drilling fluids to provide viscosity, solid suspension, and fluid-loss control. However, it is sensitive to high temperatures and not tolerant of field contaminants. This paper presents an experimental study on the effects

Rheological properties of human saliva [PDF]
From measurements with a Couette-type viscometer provided with a guard ring it was shown that at the saliva-air interface a protein layer is adsorbed. Measurements of the surface shear modulus of this layer on saliva of 7 healthy subjects were performed at a frequency of about 70 Hz and a temperature of 25 degrees C.
