Calcium-Sensing Receptor Activation of Rho Involves Filamin and Rho-Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor [PDF]
We investigated the role of Galphaq, filamin, Rho, the RhoGEF Lbc, and the C terminus of calcium-sensing receptor (CasR) in CasR signaling. We found that Ca(2+), Mg(2+), or the calcimimetic R isomer of N-(3-[2-chlorophenyl]propyl)-(R)-alpha-methyl-3-methoxybenzylamine (NPS-R568) stimulated serum response element (SRE) activity human embryonic kidney ...

Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

QCD Factorization in B Decays into ρπ [PDF]
Based on the QCD factorization approach we analyse the branching ratios for the channel $B \to \rho \pi$. From the comparisons with experimental data provided by CLEO, BELLE and BABAR we constrain the form factor $F^{B \to \pi}(m_{\rho}^{2})$ and propose boundaries for this form factor depending on the CKM matrix element parameters $\rho$ and $\eta$.

Rho GTPase Cdc42 is essential for human T-cell development
Background Rho GTPases are involved in the regulation of many cell functions, including some related to the actin cytoskeleton. Different Rho GTPases have been shown to be important for T-cell development in mice.

The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Diversification of the Rho transcription termination factor in bacteria
Abstract Correct termination of transcription is essential for gene expression. In bacteria, factor-dependent termination relies on the Rho factor, that classically has three conserved domains. Some bacteria also have a functional insertion region. However, the variation in Rho structure among bacteria has not been analyzed in detail.

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

Structural Basis of Membrane Targeting by the Dock180 Family of Rho Family Guanine Exchange Factors (Rho-GEFs) [PDF]
The Dock180 family of atypical Rho family guanine nucleotide exchange factors (Rho-GEFs) regulate a variety of processes involving cellular or subcellular polarization, including cell migration and phagocytosis. Each contains a Dock homology region-1 (DHR-1) domain that is required to localize its GEF activity to a specific membrane compartment where ...

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...
