Most organisms, including humans, show daily rhythms in many aspects of physiology and behavior, and abnormalities in the rhythms are potential risk factors for various diseases. Mood disorders such as depression are no exception. Accumulating evidence suggests strong associations between circadian disturbances and the development of depression ...

FOXM1 maintains mitochondrial bioenergetic function by inhibiting MKRN1‐mediated ubiquitination of LKB1 in cardiomyocytes. Loss of FOXM1 in cardiomyocytes results in upregulation of MKRN1, which enhances LKB1 ubiquitination and disrupts AMPK signaling and energy metabolism pathways. Conversely, FOXM1 overexpression preserves mitochondrial bioenergetics

This study found that 54% of elderly inpatients were prescribed at least one potentially inappropriate medication (PIM) based on the 2023 AGS Beers Criteria. Among identified PIMs, 32.2% were medications to avoid, and 52.8% required cautious use. Polypharmacy and chronic kidney disease (CKD) were key predictors of PIM use.

Active Whisker‐Inspired Food Material Surface Property Measurement Using Deep‐Learned Mechanosensor
Herein, a new application is proposed for an active whisker sensor that mimics the movement of rat whiskers. The whiskers, which are deformed by contact with an object, provide information about surface properties. It is shown that active whisker sensors can be useful in the food industry, and data identification is performed using deep learning ...
