Host-induced gene silencing in barley powdery mildew reveals a class of ribonuclease-like effectors.

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2013
Obligate biotrophic pathogens of plants must circumvent or counteract defenses to guarantee accommodation inside the host. To do so, they secrete a variety of effectors that regulate host immunity and facilitate the establishment of pathogen feeding ...

Transcriptome‐wide analysis of circRNA and RBP profiles and their molecular relevance for GBM

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircRNAs are differentially expressed in glioblastoma primary tumors and might serve as therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers. The investigation of circRNA and RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) interactions shows that distinct RBPs play a role in circRNA biogenesis and function.

Genetic diversity of human RNase 8

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2012
Background Ribonuclease 8 is a member of the RNase A family of secretory ribonucleases; orthologs of this gene have been found only in primate genomes. RNase 8 is a divergent paralog of RNase 7, which is lysine-enriched, highly conserved, has prominent ...

BLISTER-regulated vegetative growth is dependent on the protein kinase domain of ER stress modulator IRE1A in Arabidopsis thaliana [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The unfolded protein response (UPR) is required for protein homeostasis in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) when plants are challenged by adverse environmental conditions.

The Synthesis of Ribonuclease A

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1971
A protected linear polypeptide of 124 amino acid residues with the sequence of bovine pancreatic ribonuclease A was synthesized by the solid phase method. The polypeptide was removed from the solid support and purified, and the four disulfide bonds were closed by air oxidation of the reduced form. The synthetic enzyme was fractionated by gel filtration

Multidimensional OMICs reveal ARID1A orchestrated control of DNA damage, splicing, and cell cycle in normal‐like and malignant urothelial cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

The Hepatitis B Virus Ribonuclease H Is Sensitive to Inhibitors of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus Ribonuclease H and Integrase Enzymes

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2013
Nucleos(t)ide analog therapy blocks DNA synthesis by the hepatitis B virus (HBV) reverse transcriptase and can control the infection, but treatment is life-long and has high costs and unpredictable long-term side effects.

Cationic poly(amidoamine) promotes cytosolic delivery of bovine RNase A in melanoma cells, while maintaining its cellular toxicity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Ribonucleases are known to cleave ribonucleic acids, inducing cell death. RNase A, a member of the ribonuclease family, generally displayed poor in vitro activity. This has been attributed to factors such as low intracellular delivery.

Escape from TGF‐β‐induced senescence promotes aggressive hallmarks in epithelial hepatocellular carcinoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting

NaPi/SX-RNase segregates as a functional S-RNase and is induced under phosphate deficiency in Nicotiana alata

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2018
In plants, class III T2 RNases involves two groups of structurally similar proteins, but with different biological functions: S-RNases and non-S-RNases.
