Liver‐specific knockout of N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase METTL3 significantly accelerated hepatic tumor initiation under various oncogenic challenges, contrary to the previously reported oncogenic role of METTL3 in liver cancer cell lines or xenograft models. Mechanistically, METTL3 deficiency reduced m6A deposition on Manf transcripts and

Assessing site-specific enhancements imparted by hyperpolarized water in folded and unfolded proteins by 2D HMQC NMR [PDF]
Hyperpolarized water can be a valuable aid in protein NMR, leading to amide group 1H polarizations that are orders of magnitude larger than their thermal counterparts. Suitable procedures can exploit this to deliver 2D 1H-15N correlations with good resolution and enhanced sensitivity.

Transgenic plants as genetic models for studying functions of plant genes
Transgenic plants are widely used for the investigation of functions of particular genes as well as for reconstruction of complex gene networks controlling plant morphology, biochemistry, and physiology during different development stages and in response

The A3 adenosine receptors (A3ARs) are overexpressed in prostate cancer. AR 292 and AR 357, as A3AR antagonists, are capable of blocking proliferation, modulating the expression of drug transporter genes involved in chemoresistance, ferroptosis, and the hypoxia response, and inducing cell death.

Tertiary structure prediction of C-peptide of ribonuclease A by multicanonical algorithm [PDF]
We have performed multicanonical Monte Carlo simulations of C-peptide of ribonuclease A. It is known by CD and NMR experiments that this peptide has high alpha-helix content in aqueous solution and that the side-chain charges of residues Glu-2$^-$ and His-12$^+$ play an important role in the stability of the alpha-helix.

Possible role of human ribonuclease dicer in the regulation of R loops
R loops play an important role in regulating key cellular processes such as replication, transcription, centromere stabilization, or control of telomere length. However, the unscheduled accumulation of R loops can cause many diseases, including cancer, and neurodegenerative or inflammatory disorders. Interestingly, accumulating data indicate a possible

Stem cell‐based embryo models (SCBEMs) are valuable to study early developmental milestones. Matrigel, a basement membrane matrix, is a critical substrate used in various SCBEM protocols, but its role in driving stem cell lineage commitment is not clearly defined.

In human monocytic cells THP‐1, a limited uptake of native—not oxidized—LDL/VLDL induced expression of scavenger receptor A and cellular adhesion. Induction was inhibited by lysosomotropic (WR‐1065) and lipophilic (BHT) antioxidants and by siRNAs against ferritinophagy.

Promoter Analysis of S-Like RNase gene in Transgenic Rice [PDF]
RNases participate in vital cellular functions such as DNA replication, transcription, splicing, and control of translation. S-like ribonucleases (S-like RNases) are homologous to S-ribonucleases (S-RNases), but are not involved in self-incompatibility ...
