On the structure of some ribonucleoprotein particles
Discussions of the Faraday Society, 1958A comparative study of X-ray powder diagramsindicates that the structure of the RNA in both microsomal particles and small viruses is very different from that of isolated RNA. The conclusion is that in these particles the RNA is not segregated, but takes on a mole-cular configuration determined by the form of the protein ...

PHYSICO-CHEMICAL STUDIES ON THE MICROSOMAL RIBONUCLEOPROTEIN PARTICLES [PDF]
Abstract : By ESR spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurement, the ferromagnetic behavior of liver ribosome, ribosomal RNA and thymus DNA was studied. The results obtained strongly suggested that RNA and DNA of high molecular weight are ferromagnetic in themselves and hence they would be so even in the ribosomes or nuclei. Some studies on the brain
