Possible role of human ribonuclease dicer in the regulation of R loops
R loops play an important role in regulating key cellular processes such as replication, transcription, centromere stabilization, or control of telomere length. However, the unscheduled accumulation of R loops can cause many diseases, including cancer, and neurodegenerative or inflammatory disorders. Interestingly, accumulating data indicate a possible

Mechanism of Ribonucleotide Incorporation by Human DNA Polymerase η*
Ribonucleotides and 2′-deoxyribonucleotides are the basic units for RNA and DNA, respectively, and the only difference is the extra 2′-OH group on the ribonucleotide sugar. Cellular rNTP concentrations are much higher than those of dNTP. When copying DNA,

Zr‐Fe MOF@Ribociclib@Herceptin (ZFRH) efficiently targets/kills Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2/Estrogen Receptor‐positive (HER2/ER+) breast cancer cells. It combats tumors by: 1) Elevating ROS, altering redox balance; 2) Inhibiting transcription; 3) Inducing pyroptosis.

Three PtIV prodrugs MRP, DRP, and HRP are designed to induce pyroptosis in low GSDME‐expressing tumor cells via the Caspase‐3/GSDME pathway. By relaxing chromatin and reactivating GSDME, HRP can effectively induce pyroptosis, enhance pro‐inflammatory cytokine production, and exhibit potent antitumor effects.

Defining the RNaseH2 enzyme-initiated ribonucleotide excision repair pathway in Archaea
Incorporation of ribonucleotides during DNA replication has severe consequences for genome stability. Although eukaryotes possess a number of redundancies for initiating and completing repair of misincorporated ribonucleotides, archaea such as ...

Hydroxyurea-Mediated Cytotoxicity Without Inhibition of Ribonucleotide Reductase
In many organisms, hydroxyurea (HU) inhibits class I ribonucleotide reductase, leading to lowered cellular pools of deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates. The reduced levels for DNA precursors is believed to cause replication fork stalling. Upon treatment of

Woody breast compromises meat quality leading to reduced consumer appeal. Although its causes are unclear, improvements observed with certain dietary supplements suggest that gut health may influence woody breast development. Ribonucleotide reductase subunit RRM2 is vital for mitochondrial function and gastrointestinal integrity, and alteration in its ...

Polymyxins are currently used as the last-resort antibiotics against multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii. As resistance to polymyxins emerges in A. baumannii with monotherapy, combination therapy is often the only remaining treatment option.
