Caloric restriction that extends lifespan induces the expression of PGC‐1α and MIPEP in white adipose tissue. In this study, co‐overexpression of Pgc‐1α and Mipep upregulated the gene expression of PHOSPHO1. These findings provide new insights into mitochondria‐related mechanisms underlying the effects of caloric restriction in adipocytes.

Multiple prebiotic metals mediate translation. [PDF]
Today, Mg2+ is an essential cofactor with diverse structural and functional roles in life's oldest macromolecular machine, the translation system. We tested whether ancient Earth conditions (low O2, high Fe2+, and high Mn2+) can revert the ribosome to a ...

Characterization of ribosome heterogeneity during endothelial to hematopoietic transition
The panorama of ribosome heterogeneity during embryonic hematopoiesis has not yet been portrayed. In this study, utilizing dual‐omics data, the heterogenous dynamic of ribosome during endothelial‐to‐hematopoietic transition has been systemically described. Moreover, stage‐specific upregulation and peripheral localization of RPL27 and RACK1 in hemogenic

The C-terminal tail of ribosomal protein Rps15 is engaged in cytoplasmic pre-40S maturation
The small ribosomal subunit protein Rps15/uS19 is involved in early nucleolar ribosome biogenesis and subsequent nuclear export of pre-40S particles to the cytoplasm.

Transcriptional regulation in eukaryotic ribosomal protein genes [PDF]
Understanding ribosomal protein gene regulation provides a good avenue for understanding gene regulatory networks. Even after 5 decades of research on ribosomal protein gene regulation, little is known about how higher eukaryotic ribosomal protein genes ...

Liver‐specific lncRNAs associated with liver cancers
Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are regulatory molecules with various functions. They are more tissue‐specific than proteins and can be used as potential biomarkers, particularly in cancer diagnostics and prognosis. In this review, we have systematically compiled all lncRNAs with exclusive expression in the human liver, verified their liver specificity ...
