RONIN/HCF1‐TFEB Axis Protects Against D‐Galactose‐Induced Cochlear Hair Cell Senescence Through Autophagy Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
D‐galactose (D‐gal) induced inner ear hair cell senescence by inhibiting TFEB transcription. RONIN/HCF1 promotes TFEB transcription to prevent cochlear HCs from D‐gal‐induced senescence through autophagy activation. Abstract Age‐related hearing loss is characterized by senescent inner ear hair cells (HCs) and reduced autophagy.

Paralog-Specific Functions of RPL7A and RPL7B Mediated by Ribosomal Protein or snoRNA Dosage in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

open access: yesG3: Genes, Genomes, Genetics, 2017
Most ribosomal proteins in Saccharomyces cerevisiae are encoded by two paralogs that additively produce the optimal protein level for cell growth. Nonetheless, deleting one paralog of most ribosomal protein gene pairs results in a variety of phenotypes ...

Translation with frameshifting of ribosome along mRNA transcript [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Translation is an important process for prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells to produce necessary proteins for cell growth. Numerious experiments have been performed to explore the translational properties. Diverse models have also been developed to determine the biochemical mechanism of translation. However, to simplify the majority of the existing models,

Inactivation of Ribosomal Protein Genes in Bacillus subtilis Reveals Importance of Each Ribosomal Protein for Cell Proliferation and Cell Differentiation

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 2012
Among the 57 genes that encode ribosomal proteins in the genome of Bacillus subtilis, a Gram-positive bacterium, 50 genes were targeted by systematic inactivation. Individual deletion mutants of 16 ribosomal proteins (L1, L9, L15, L22, L23, L28, L29, L32,

α‐Synuclein Pathology Spreads in a Midbrain–Hindbrain Assembloid Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel midbrain–hindbrain assembloid model demonstrates the spread of α‐synuclein pathology, a hallmark of Parkinson's disease, mimicking Braak's hypothesis. This model reveals how pathology propagates from the hindbrain to the midbrain, inducing synaptic changes and early signs of neuronal vulnerability. It offers an innovative platform for exploring

Yar1 Protects the Ribosomal Protein Rps3 from Aggregation*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2012
Background: Because of their biochemical properties, newly synthesized ribosomal proteins are prone to aggregation. Results: Yar1 directly interacts with free Rps3, accompanies it from the cytoplasm to the nucleus and maintains its solubility. Conclusion:

Dynamics of Cell Fate Decisions during Chemically Induced Multi‐Lineage Trans‐Differentiation at Single‐Cell Level

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A critical aspect of chromosomal remodeling in small molecule‐induced multilineage trans‐differentiation(iMT) is elucidated. A dynamic atlas spanning over 35 days profiles terminal trans‐differentiated cells, which reverted to a more youthful state. This study reveals parallels between iMT and other cell fate determination processes, emphasizing an ...

Orally Administered Functional Polyphenol‐Nanozyme‐Armored Probiotics for Enhanced Amelioration of Intestinal Inflammation and Microbiota Dysbiosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel polyphenol‐nanozyme‐armored probiotic system (ECA@EcN) for enhanced treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). By integrating chitosan‐modified epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG‐CS) with gold nanozymes, the system effectively scavenges ROS, improves probiotic viability, and restores gut microbiota balance.

Structure Elucidation, Total Synthesis, Antibacterial In Vivo Efficacy and Biosynthesis Proposal of Myxobacterial Corramycin**

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 61, Issue 51, December 19, 2022., 2022
Corramycin is a novel natural product produced by the myxobacterium Corallococcus coralloides. The structure, extraordinary total synthesis and biosynthesis of the antibiotic is described for the first time. Its promise as an in vivo septicemia model, the absence of cross‐resistance with commonly used antibiotic classes, and the lack of cytotoxicity ...

Screening and Identification of Novel DNA Aptamer for Targeted Delivery to Injured Podocytes in Glomerular Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops RLS‐2, a high‐affinity aptamer that specifically targets injured podocytes, making it a promising candidate for targeted drug delivery. In vitro, RLS‐2 shows stability, specificity, efficient siRNA delivery via AsiCs, and uptake by podocytes.
