The aberrant expression pattern and prognostic implications of HIVEP3 in AML were explored and validated based on versatile bioinformatics tools. A LASSO model which combined HIVEP3 with ferroptosis regulators was created to predict the prognosis for AML patients.

A New Mechanism for Ribosome Rescue Can Recruit RF1 or RF2 to Nonstop Ribosomes
Bacterial ribosomes frequently translate to the 3′ end of an mRNA without terminating at an in-frame stop codon. In all bacteria studied to date, these “nonstop” ribosomes are rescued using trans-translation.

Ribosome Flow Model with Extended Objects [PDF]
We study a deterministic mechanistic model for the flow of ribosomes along the mRNA molecule, called the ribosome flow model with extended objects (RFMEO). This model encapsulates many realistic features of translation including non-homogeneous transition rates along the mRNA, the fact that every ribosome covers several codons, and the fact that ...

By investigating auditory hyperexcitability in a mouse model for hereditary deafness, this study identified a subpopulation of afferent neurons of the auditory nerve marked by Otogl expression. Despite their apparently normal hearing, Otogl+/− mice display poor activation of afferent neurons processing loud sounds and an elevation of the middle the ear

Small Non-Coding RNAs Derived from Eukaryotic Ribosomal RNA
The advent of RNA-sequencing (RNA-Seq) technologies has markedly improved our knowledge and expanded the compendium of small non-coding RNAs, most of which derive from the processing of longer RNA precursors.

We present a universal way to wrap liposomes around coacervate droplets. Membrane‐enclosed coacervates form when heat‐destabilized liposomes are mixed with coacervates. Membranized coacervates (MCs) can survive pH and ionic strength fluctuations, osmotic stress, and low temperatures.

Diaphorin is a polyketide produced by “Candidatus Profftella armatura” (Gammaproteobacteria: Burkholderiales), an obligate symbiont of a devastating agricultural pest, the Asian citrus psyllid Diaphorina citri (Hemiptera: Psyllidae).

Slowing translation to avoid ribosome population extinction and maintain stable allocation at slow growth rates [PDF]
To double the cellular population of ribosomes, a fraction of the active ribosomes is allocated to synthesize ribosomal proteins. Subsequently, these ribosomal proteins enter the ribosome self-assembly process, synthesizing new ribosomes and forming the well-known ribosome autocatalytic subcycle.
